Welcome to the Sevenoaks Conservative Association (SCA) website!
We are a proactive Association keen to support our Councillors and give a clear voice to our Members living in Sevenoaks and Swanley. In recognition of the vision of our Conservative Councillors, Sevenoaks District Council won the Gold iESE award for transformation in Health and Social Care, which was a good start to 2018!
With the backup of the Association and Council, one of the schemes a few of our Councillors have tirelessly worked towards is taking steps to combat homelessness, which has risen on average by 15% in the previous year, providing holistic advice to people before they are evicted via our HERO (Housing, Energy, Retraining, Options) scheme. To incorporate the growing links between mental ill health and debt, two of the most common causes of homelessness - we also now have Super HEROs. Of course, as well as main issues facing our district, our Councillors are also dedicated to everyday issues, such as pot holes, employment, travel and schools, to name but a few. Together with the work of the Rt Hon Sir Michael Fallon, we have secured a girls grammar school annexe - now we are looking into securing one for boys.
As ever, our members are so important to us, so it is important we represent you adequately. We aim to keep you abreast of changes in your area or politically, as soon as we are able to, via our Councillors, Ward Branches or directly from the Association. We hope that the work our Councillors do for you in your community and the involvement our branches should bring to your area, will afford us a long and happy working relationship. We are here to serve you, so please do contact your local Conservative Councillor, should you need assistance in with any issue in your Ward. As part of your membership you are free to join your local Conservative Branch in your Ward, or even become a Branch Committee member - another way of getting your voice actively heard. All branch Wards run excellent fundraising events that host excellent political speakers. Click on the 'Events' tab to find out when the next one will be!
Finally, like all voluntarily led organisations, the Association counts on YOUR support. We would really appreciate it if you could help us by offering your time by canvassing, delivering leaflets, door knocking or fundraising, or by making additional donations to our ‘Fighting Fun’. To donate, please click the button on the left hand side of this page - as your reference please enter 'Fighting Fund'. To get involved, please click on the ‘Get involved’ tab and complete the form at the bottom of the page and submit it. We are always on the look out for members who feel passionate about the area they live in and feel they would like to be involved as a Councillor. We would welcome you. Please call the office to make further enquiries.
I look forward to working with you in the future.
