Supper Club meeting

'The Cambridge Spies'. The Supper Club invites you to enjoy a delicious meal and a fascinating after-dinner talk by Edward Towne. We're all familiar with the names Philby, McClean, Burgess, Blunt and Cairncross but who were they really? What were they like? Why Cambridge? Why Trinity and Trinity Hall? What was the political situation in Britain at that time? What damage did they do? Could it re-occur? Does it still go on? All will be answered by acclaimed after-dinner speaker Edward Towne at a not to be missed Supper Club event.

Sundridge & Ide Hill Summer Garden Event

Sundridge & Ide Hill Branch invite you to their Summer Garden Event which this year, is to be held in the stunning gardens of Henden Manor. For the first time in 30 years the beautiful 8-acre gardens will be fully open to guests, and from 3.30 - 6.30pm you are invited to stroll around and take in the sights while enjoying wine and delicious canapes. All members and friends and family are most welcome; there is ample parking on site.

Sevenoaks Conservative Policy Forum on The Post-Brexit Economy

How can the UK maximize the benefit from new technology and ensure that good jobs are created? How can we ensure that the whole UK benefits from economic growth? What role should the Government have in supporting the growth of existing UK businesses and the cultivation of new industries and technologies? How can we fund new infrastructure?

'Farming in the 1940's & 50's'. The Supper Club invites you to enjoy a delicious meal and a fascinating after-dinner talk from Peter Bates on the subject of farming in the 1940s - 50s. Peter Bates was born in 1940, and spent his first 20 years as a farmer’s boy. He was brought up on a 48 acre mixed farm smallholding in the Weald of Kent; with 12 cows, 3 pigs, 30 sheep, 50 chickens and a cart horse; without any mains water until 1947, nor mains electricity until 1961! Clearly a simple happy life, though harsh at times.

The Town & St John's Branch of Sevenoaks Conservative Association invites you to enjoy a Spring fork supper and a fascinating talk from one of our own District Councillors, Graham Clack; 'From Trotsky to Tory'.

The evening will consist of a delicious two course supper with a glass of wine, and afterwards, Graham will tell us about his fascinating personal political journey. The bar will be available throughout the evening for extra refreshments at your own cost.

Otford & Shoreham Branch farewell event for Cllr.Michelle Lowe

The Sevenoaks Conservative Association together with the Otford & Shoreham Branch, invite you to join them to say farewell to Cllr Michelle Lowe.

Michelle was first elected to the District Council to represent Otford and Shoreham in 2007. In 2013 Michelle became portfolio holder for Housing and Community Safety as well as Deputy Leader of the District Council, winning a national award in 2018 for her 'Wellbeing Starts at Home' initiative, and for services to the community. Join us in wishing Michelle all the very best as she steps down from what has been a long, distinguished and very much respected role in local public life.

'Bruges - more than just chocolate'. Sevenoaks Supper Club invites you to enjoy a delicious meal and a fascinating talk from guest speaker Melanie Gibson-Barton on Bruges. Melanie is an acclaimed after-dinner speaker and her talk is colourfully illustrated and wide-ranging and provides an insider’s view of the beautiful city of Bruges, in Flanders in north Belgium. Although famous for its chocolate the talk sets out to prove that the Gothic city represents more than just this popular delicacy. The importance of Bruges to elements of Flemish culture include its language, lace, cycling - and chips! From being a wealthy medieval port for Europe, Bruges escaped the ravages of the Industrial Revolution and the effects of two World Wars to become a draw to travellers from the 1890s to today.
